Minneapolis for 24 hour trip with 14 year old!

I will be in Minneapolis, Minnesota for work event, any ideas of things to do with 14 year old son in January?

Mall of America seems like the obvious choice. Shop, do the coaster, have a nice meal.

No Mall of America. Just no.

Embrace that you'll be in Minneapolis in January: try cross country skiing or snowshoeing or skating on a lake.

For museums, Minneapolis Institute of Art, Walker Art Center, and Science Museum of Minnesota are all excellent.

And for just a fun things to do, Can Can Wonderland in St. Paul is great.

I've been to Mall of America on a layover. It was ok for the time killing purpose, but I wouldn't spend a ton of time there, it was just a bunch of the same stores on multiple levels.
