Le Creuset dutch oven too heavy--suggestions for a substitute?

Anonymous
I have a Le Creuset dutch oven. I use it all the time to make soups, chilis, pot roast, etc. However, it's extremely heavy, especially when it's full or I am washing it in the sink. Plus it has started getting rusty around the edges.

Does anyone have a lighter alternative that would work for making soups, stews, chilis? I want something where I can sauté and then simmer. Ideally I'd like to be able to put it in the oven, too. It does not need to be dishwasher-safe. For making 4-6 servings.

Would the sauteuse size work for you? It seems to go on sale regularly as a bonus.

There is no substitute for good old fashioned iron.

I have a light weight Sur La Table one for exactly this reason. It works great!

A favorite pot for me. I have two large Le Creusets that I can no longer independently use. Just too heavy.
The All-Clad is amazing despite the lighter weight material.

+1. I have this one and use it way more than my heavier 5.5 and 7.5 quart ovens because it’s lighter and easier to maneuver. It easily does 4 servings of a soup or sauce or chili, maybe 6 servings of a side dish.
