Will schools close on Jan 9th?

Wondering if schools will close on Jan 9th because of Carter’s funeral. Traffic will be horrible that day and federal govt has announced feds off.

I would think so. No way kids will be able to get anywhere near the Cathedral.

I could see the cathedral schools being closed, but I'd be surprised if anyone else closes.

I’m trying to remember what state funeral was held when I was at NCS and I’m coming up blank. Would have been during the Clinton admin. We still had school. But I think it was someone who had been a cabinet member or something, not a former president. I would think Carter’s funeral will be a much bigger deal and would not be surprised if the Cathedral schools all closed.

Probably OP.

Schools won't close. I was at NCS long enough for several state funerals. The cathedral schools never closed for them.

I think it was Gerald Ford, but it was also around new year and I remember getting days off work because the market was closed but having to work anyway because it was year end close. I think schools were also closed an additional day all over the country because it was an official federal holiday/day of mourning announced
