My spouse and I want to enjoy a one-night local getaway in March. Our baby will be 3 months old then.
He is a pretty good sleeper; we think this will go ok. Ideas for places where it’s easy to have an enjoyable afternoon / dinner / breakfast, within a one-hour drive of NW DC, where it’s compatible with having a baby? (For example, dinner at the Inn at Little Washington is not baby-compatible; the Rosewood in Georgetown would probably work fine). Bonus if there is somewhere good for a short walk near there. |
Wait. This baby is zero right now? You don’t know yet whether he’s a good sleeper. It’s fine to make plans if you need something to look forward to, but I wouldn’t count on it.
Also note that babies “wake up” when they are 2 or 4 or 6 weeks old, and their sleep habits change. |

Winchester. Nice pedestrian downtown mall that's brick-paved with lots of shops and restaurants and coffee shops. Nice drive out there on 66 especially if spring is springing with the flowers and such. |

Four Seasons Georgetown Pendry Baltimore But really think about if one night is worth it. Even if it’s just 15 minutes away, you still need to pack as if it’s 5 hours. Arriving to a hotel if the room isn’t ready, 3:00pm check in, isn’t ideal. Try to get guaranteed early check in or do two nights. |
