Anyone else? I get these intense food fixations for several days, weeks or even months, where I’m obsessed and have the food almost every day, or a few times a week at least. And then, like someone hitting a switch, it’s over.
This year alone: Chicken salad Dots cinnamon pretzel twists or honey mustard pretzel twists Chocolate pudding Spinach Brie Toast with butter (any time of day, not just breakfast) Chai Avocado Cinnamon Mentos Twizzlers Is anyone else like this? I get so obsessed! I still eat other things and overall have a balanced diet (like if I’m in a Twizzlers phase, that’s my dessert/sweet for the day), but it’s so bizarre that I even have to go hunt down Cinnamon Mentos at every gas station until I find one that has them, and I buy 8 packs. |
| Yes - but now in menopause I end up getting migraines from too much of any one food. |
|
Mine tend to come and go (like lots of avocados for a couple weeks and then I don’t want any for 6 mos)
HOWEVER super interested in these cinnamon Mentos bc I love cinnamon and had no idea these exist. Are they super difficult to find? |

This would describe me. I’ve been on a salmon kick for over a year and have it at least 4 nights a week.
I’m just getting over a Häagen-Dazs coffee ice cream obsession and replacing it with Russel Stover milk chocolate covered marshmallow valentines hearts. Still main lining salmon. |

Yes, absolutely. For me it usually lasts anywhere from 3-6 months and then I am just done with the item, sometimes for years.
I ate rice pudding daily for 3-4 years in my 20s. Then didn't eat it more than perhaps 3 times in the next 15 years. Some other foods I have cycled through: Subway white chocolate macadamia cookies Avocado Turkey on sourdough Boca burger with yellow mustard on plain bun Plain yogurt with granola York peppermint patties |
| No. This is weird. I think most chemically balanced people do not experience this. |
| Yes, I think it's an ADHD thing. We hyperfocus on various things, including foods. |
OP here. I finally found them at Royal Farms. Good luck! You can also order off of Amazon but I’d like to pretend I wouldn’t eat a box of 12 or whatever… |

Yup, me too. All sorts of things. One year I made a particular fennel dish twice a week for months. I’ve never eaten it since. Fennel other ways, sure. Just not that one.
I also really like to cook, so sometimes I will make the same thing repeatedly until I get it perfect. DH hates that though so I do it less often than I otherwise would. |
| Yep, same. 2024 was the Year of Korean food. Then I started a diet on August and I’ve been eating basically the same Sweet Kale salad with berries and almonds with the same Raspberry vinaigrette for months. |
Oh, me again…and it has worked! I’m down 33 pounds. |

Yes! I like making a list of mine each year :
Sumo mandarin Tea Mustards (I tried so many mustards this year, the hotter the better) These Pink Lady cinnamon sugar apple chips from Trader Joe’s that I had an intense love affair with for about 6 weeks in the fall Bean salads, omg, I made so many bean salads this year For a couple months I had an egg white, cheese and kale omelet with black beans for breakfast every single morning Yogurt bowls with frozen fruit and jello TruLemon lemonade packets , specifically mixed berry Cava spicy Labne dip from Whole Foods |
That’s awesome!

+1 It's one thing to be in a (temporary) mood for XYZ food,, but not to the point of obsession. |
We all have ADHD. If you don’t have adhd, you wouldn’t get it. |
