| Has anyone seen real research, not research done by the brand that suggests which brand is the healthiest? Also, does organic matter? We want to splurge and buy some as a holiday gift to ourselves. |

A large majority of olive oil out of Italy, Greece, and Spain is adulterated. Not necessarily unhealthy but not what it purports to be.
Pay close attention to country of origin, best by date and preferably harvest date. |
| Extra virgin cold-pressed has the most nutrients. Look for a brand that is certified. |

I remember a few years ago when an article came out listing all these brands they found were altered with cheaper oils and it really pissed me off.
There were a few brands mentioned that were solid and one was california olive ranch which was the easiest one to find out of the solid brands mentioned. So ever since I just buy that brand exclusively. I’m sure there are better ones too but that’s just what I did. |
| I work in the region that has a lot of Olive Oils, like a lot. My grocery store will have 50 brands. I buy those produced somewhat locally, Lebanese usually. |

| I trust the ones sold at Costco more than the ones at the regular supermarket. My sense is that Costco is more rigorous about its supply chains, but I don't know how true that actually is. |
the kirkland brand was one of the ones they found filler in a few years ago.Hopefully they fixed it. |

I agree. Also look on the bottle if it mentions when was it pressed. Buy local. If you can taste it and it kinda stings your throat that’s a sign of a good and fresh extra virgin olive oil. |
