AMA and positive for Lupus anticoagulant - anyone?

Anonymous
Maybe this is a long shot, but I'm stressing over here. Recently I discovered I was positive for Lupus Anticoagulant, which increases my risk of blood clots (miscarriage, stroke, placenta issues, eclampsia, etc) and therefore puts me in the high-risk category for pregnancy. I am also in my 40s.

Has anyone been in this situation? What did you do and what was the outcome?

I had a different blood clotting issue (and my mother had lupus and anti phospholipid issues). I strongly suggest you see an MFM. They may want you on blood thinners or low dose steroids or something else. Or just to monitor.

I saw Dr Hamersley in Gaithersburg. She was great.

My mother had two kids with no issues though. Hope you do as well!
