However, I looked and MCPS didn't close in 2018 when Bush Sr. died, so they probably won't close. The feds will be closed tho. Usually on the day of the president's funeral.

Most Schools don’t usually close unless they are located near the funeral or memorial service. Because of the number of current or former dignitaries plus the President security is heightened.

I think that may have been a pre-scheduled day off before the funeral was scheduled. I am a teacher and I think there is a chance Mcps closes for this.
