Let me preface by saying I am only talking socially/societal treatment, not about career/work benefits.
Does going to a school outside of the t75 hurt you socially? Like does it impact you negatively by clearly placing you in the hierarchy of selectivity/average test scores, gpa, etc? Wouldn't it be better to not go to college, start a business, etc. than to have a blot on your "resume" forever? |
| I sincerely hope this is a troll. To be more specific: I hope this is a high school aged troll making fun of parents here. |
| You are an idiot. |
Outside of t50, no one cares. A little over 1/3rd of people in the U.S. even have a bachelor's degree. Start there. |
| You realize there are kids with SATs in the top 1% attending colleges that some ranking somewhere puts outside of someone's top 75, right? |
| No one cares where you went to school. |
Don’t we have enough threads like this? Enough! |
| I don’t hang out with shallow aholes who judge me based on where I went to college. And if other people judge me, I don’t care because I’m not a teenager who cares what others think. |
| So far: no one has come up with any concrete argument against this idea. Why be defensive without any concrete reasoning? |
| I think parents are increasingly focused on the right fit for their children, regardless of ranking. I approve. |
The answer to the question is no, but one can’t prove a negative so you won’t get a satisfying answer |
| So much naval gazing. NO ONE CARES! |
| The only thing that damages a resume is a totally useless degree from a for-profit “college” like Devry or the University of Phoenix. That marks you as a financially irresponsible sucker. |
