I am a licensed provider who recently moved from Maryland to Virginia. I previously used moms groups on Facebook to find families needing care such as the Potomac Rockville Bethesda moms groups with 20k members.
The Moms groups I belong to in Northern Virginia don't allow posts that are self promoting. Looking for suggestions of where to post. Nextdoor? I am on carelulu but they are now charging for advertising. I try to keep my rates low ($300 per week, hot nutritious meals provided, full preschool program) so I don't like to pay to advertise unless I have to. I don't have any infant spots available if that makes a difference. NOVA mom's suggestions would be appreciated! |
Look for Facebook groups. There are usually ones specifically for childcare in your area. But also general Facebook Mom groups for your area will be a good resource (either for direct referrals or they can tell you where to advertise). |
I would say you need to have a website advertising your services. |
Most people looking for in-homes are looking for infant care, and expect to leave for larger preschool programs by age 3. |

Lucy's List Next door App You could print flyers and post it the libraries |
People just post on Facebook or Nextdoor acting like they’re posting for someone else and not advertising their own business |
