Fondue Recipe

I think we are doing a cheese fondue for NYE. Any suggestions.

Buy a good fondue pot, not one of those tiny fire ones

My family is serious and this is what we do: Appenzeller, gruyere, emmenthaler with kirsch and rub garlic along the bottom of a pot. Just use cast iron and a portable induction at the table and skip the fiddley fondue pot

Have bread, potatoes, and cornichon
Serve with a side salad and sausages and ham

We are swiss, and yes also a bit serious when it comes to swiss food hah!

IKEA portable induction burner is perfect for fondue!

Thanks...I assume those are all cheeses! Lol. I know gruyere; will I find them at the grocery store!?

Most grocery stores have a fondue cheese already put together for you, I’ve seen it at Harris Teeter, Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s. Super easy but it does sort of have a wine/sherry taste to it in case your kids are not into that.

I like a splash of kirsch in my fondue.
