DH and I were supposed to go to NYC this weekend without kids. Now it's a family trip due to childcare falling though.
Any ideas on what to do?? Broadway shows all seem to cost upward of $600, and we've been to the Museum of Natural History - would love other ideas! |
How old are your kids? The Math Museum is great for elementary school kids. And my 9 year old was way more into the Met than I thought he would be. |

I saw this, and it was wonderful! They are doing a lot of specials right now with the show closing next week. I would also suggest Tenement Museum, doing a cooking class, getting dim sum, trying out a few pizza places, going to the Nutcracker ballet. |
Jellycat Cafe at FAO Schwartz and you can get a reservation. |
Spyscape, math museum, bowling or ice skating at Chelsea piers, queens hall of science, |
This and definitely get a reservation. We had to wait 30 min in line outside just to get in the store last week. |
NYC color factory
Go to Ellen’s stardust diner at an off time for less wait if possible |
Go see the Ancient Egypt section of the Met
Embrace the rain! Wear good coats, leave the umbrellas at home, and enjoy the empty streets |
