American Airlines - grounding all flights 12/24

Just saw this. Due to a technical issue.

First, if this affects you and your family, I hope you get it resolved and on your way soon, whether by another airline, train or drive.

Thoughts on what it could be by those more knowledgeable than me? A hack?

Wow. If they don’t get up and running soon it will be way worse than the SW meltdown. At least in that one more than half of people were unaffected (and we were thankfully some of them.)

I read that it was the system for weight balancing that went down across the airline.

Yea, that was a dodged bullet. There’s probably not a ton of flights going out before 8am, so fairly recoverable. This could have been disastrous!
