| My SIL just got this car, and I am curious why someone would get this over a Highlander or Ascent (she has a Subaru now in fact). Consumer reports hates the car. Is it especially great to drive? Trendy? |
| Mom groups love it. No one knows why. |
Oh wow, SIL is a huge Instagram Mom influencer type follower. Really do you think it’s just because some influencers like it? What kind of Mom groups are you talking about? Are they virtual and I look at them? I’m so curious? I really want them to get a Highlander because they have car problems. It affects by MIL. |
| Space wise it’s hard to beat without getting full size (suburban type) car |
So I guess if you only plan to keep it for like four years, it’s a good deal because it’s so big and inside. But the consumer reports reliability is abysmal, but I assume for influencer types they get a new car frequently. |

German cars don’t get stolen on DC streets
German wheels don’t get lifted Wish I was kidding. |
Are you saying that German cars are so unreliable that even car thieves don’t want them? 😉 |
I am PP…will neither confirm nor deny, since I’m not a car thief
|
| Everyone I know who drives one, is a horrible driver and parker. |
| Different people like different things. Duh. |
Like I said, when they have car troubles, it impacts my MIL, and I wish they would just get something reliable, not trending |
Yeah the huge size and the car seat friendly 3rd row access makes it minivan like and thus a hit with mommy bloggers with a gaggle of kids. |
It’s only a little bit bigger than a pilot cargo wise, yet only seats 7 passengers vs a pilots 8. I guess if you are carrying 6 kids and hockey gear that’s the priority? |
Consumer Reports hates Jeeps as well, but Jeep owners keep buying Jeeps. Among the Highlander, the Ascent, and the VW Atlas, I find the Atlas most attractive--but, it is the only one that I didn't test drive. |
Atlas looks so boring but perhaps that’s a plus? |
