Please explain ParentSquare. Another school related comunications platform?
We already have: ParentVue Remind |
| Never heard of it. |
|
ParentSquare IS Remind. They acquired Remind back in 2023: https://www.parentsquare.com/blog/parentsquare-acquires-remind-expanding-options-for-school-home-engagement/
It looks like they're just not starting to retire the Remind brand and replace it with ParentSquare. |

So now it's Parent VUE
+ Parent SQUARE? Geez. |
| More details on the merger and acquisition here: https://www.remind.com/parentsquare |
It's for maximum confusion. They also have school bucks and schoolcash. ParentVue vs Remind is too clear of a distinction and doesn't make parents dizzy enough. |
You know that MCPS has no control over the names of these sites or their parent companies, right? |
|
And we wouldn't have to use a texting platform if parents would just answer their phones or read their messages in ParentVue.
|
I can't wait for the day when all the corruption and kickbacks in edtech get exposed |
Riiiiigggghhhhttt they have no control over which ones they select?? |
You want them to select vendors based on their names? |
They certainly aren't selecting them based on value. |
"ParentSquare" is a better name than "Remind." |
Not the PP. While MCPS has no control over the vendor names, they do have some control or the ability to work with the vendor to control some of the features. They also have the ability to control communication so that parents would know Remind and ParentSquare are the same thing and no changes are needed. More, they have the capability and responsibility to determine their TechStack and then to train Teachers and Administrators to use correctly. |
