Names for generations

If you were creating a social media post for a company that was supposed to convey results of demographic analysis on a fairly serious topic would you use "Boomers"?

I associate that shortened version with mocking characterization from younger generations and was surprised to see it instead of "Baby Boomers"

No I wouldn't. It has a negative connotation.

Maybe "retirees"? I know there are some retirees in Gen X, but it still give an idea about the demographic to which you are referring.

My company is posting it. Trying to decide how much political capital to spend bringing it up, if at all

I would use years. I wouldn’t use Boomers or Baby Boomers or Gen X or any of them.

There actually is a popular site called Boomer Benefits but it probably existed before all the "ok b0omer" crap.

No. Too much of a stigma at this point. I'd change it to "members of the baby boom generation" or something. You can still refer to the helpful info about the named generation without using "boomer."
