Local Holiday Markets---compare 9th & F to Dupont Circle

Usually take MIL to lunch and to one of the holiday markets. I understand that there is now one at Dupont Circle this year similar to one at 9th & F. Trying to figure out which one is better this year.
I love Eastern Market too but it is too overwhelming on weekend for MIL.

my understanding is that the dupont one is much smaller and more crowded, and all the vendors there are also at E Mkt or 9th and F. I would do 9th and F and then you can go to the Portrait Gallery after.

I wasn’t impressed by the DuPont one. Very small. So overcrowded.

For years we've gone to the downtown holiday market (next to the Portrait Gallery) operated by Diverse Markets Management (DMM) mainly for the mini donuts. After DMM and the Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) parted ways this year, DMM is moving its operations to Dupont Circle, bringing the mini donuts with them, while BID brought in a different management company to host the Portrait Gallery market.

My family is also debating which market to go to. I want to branch out from the mini donuts and go to the old location (can't beat being able to duck inside the Portrait Gallery, also checking out the decorations at City Center that's nearby). DH on the other hand is very attached to those darn mini donuts. So the jury is still out.
