2024 was the first year I think I’ve ever managed to complete a true year long project (reading the entire Bible in a year, I’m scheduled to finish on 12/27.)
I’d really like to try something like this again. Maybe reading all of Shakespeare? I think I was successful because the goal was small for each individual week, and only really needed 15 minutes a day to stay on track. Anyone else making a New Year’s Resolution? I’d love more ideas. |
| Clean out every closet in the house. |
I guess this could take a year to complete. Pick one closet each month? |
| I'm actively working to declutter/minimize my entire house. Not just closets - the whole house. I've already started and gotten a good amount done. I follow some great minimalist/decluttering people on FB. I truly hope that next New Years I will not even be able to state this as a goal because I will have completed it. Although, I also understand that its an ongoing lifestyle not something you "complete." But I at least want to complete the initial purge. |

“Declutterring the house” as a New Year’s resolution strikes me the same as “finally losing the weight.” Goals that are that vague - with such a long time limit attached - do not seem like you are seriously committed to achieving anything. People ‘resolve’ to do this stuff year after year.
The best way to make forward progress on improving your life next year is to define specific objectives and a manageable timeframe. |
