Oven cleaning

How do you clean your oven?

What do you use and how often?

I feel like I must be doing it wrong. I probably don’t clean it frequently enough- because I haven’t found a natural product that works. So I resort to Oven Off which has to be pure poison and I have to air out the whole kitchen well after. And it makes a huge mess and uses up many rags and paper towels.

My oven doesn’t have a self clean function. Is there a better way that doesn’t involve super harsh chemicals?

I have never once cleaned my oven. I've lived here 15 years.

Depends on how often you use it.

I scrape the door class with a razor blade. Works well.

I recently purchased a used oven and followed these directions to clean it. It worked great and nothing toxic.

I use barkeepers friend. Our oven is enamel inside and that’s what the owners manual recommends. Takes a bit of scrubbing but it works well.
