If you could pick one what would it be?
The Golden Book version of Twas the Night Before Christmas would be mine. |
| The Gift of the Magi by O'Henry |
| The literary classic “the Sweet Smell of Christmas”. |
| A modern classic would be The Polar Express. |

I don't know about "All" ages
Father Christmas by Raymond Briggs is a lovely illustrated kids book. A Christmas Carol is a good short story for most ages and great when performed on stage / read aloud It's a Wonderful Life is one of my favorite Christmas movies and that said, also the reinterpretation with Nicolas Cage, The Family Man |
| “A Christmas Memory” by Truman Capote. (Though it is extremely sad!) |
| Mr. Willoughby’s Christmas Tree 🎄 |
|
T'was the Night Before Christmas.
The Gift of the Magi A Christmas Carol How the Grinch Stole Christmas |
| The Twenty Four Days Before Christmas by Madeleine L'Engel |
| Rudolph the red nosed rain deer |
|
The Bible. Not kidding. We're not particularly religious, but I think it's culturally important to read the story each year. We also read creation stories and texts from other religions at various times of the year. There are nice Advent calendars that go through the story leading up to Jesus' birth.
For pop culture, my first thought was the night before Christmas. |
| A Visit from St. Nicholas (Clement Moore) |
| The Best Christmas Pageant Ever |
| A Christmas Carol duh |
This is my favorite. Beautifully written and I liked it as a child and still do as an adult. |
