mulled wine?

do people actually like it? having a christmas party this weekend, and we have eggnog, spiced hot cider etc, but wasn't sure whether to warm up the red wine with spices and try to make it christmas-y too.

I host a Christmas open house every year and we always have a pot of mulled wine simmering on the stove. People definitely drink it.

Trader Joe's sells a mulled wine in bottles. It's called Gluhwein.

You can microwave it by the cup if people want it.

I enjoy it at a party if there are ceramic or glass mugs to use. Mulled wine in a plastic solo cup is not good. Some recipes add a lot of sugar but I prefer just spices.

Hot cider and mulled wine are too much the same - warm and sweet. Don't do it.
