IB GPA Conversation for Walls/Banneker Applicaion

Anonymous
Our 8th grader goes to an IB program so their GPA is from 1-7 rather than 1-4. How does this GPA get converted to the 4.0 scale when applying to schools like Banneker or Walls?

Just subtract 3

I believe a 6 and a 7 are both 4.0. If your student is at DCI, check back discussions from about a year ago.

Don't you have a guidance counselor at your school? Our guidance counselor offered to calculate the GPA for us if we asked.

Walls has a formula. Don't know about Banneker.

Does Walls have a formula? They have a formula for computing a GPA on a 4.0 scale. But I don’t see any formula for converting grades from the 7 point IB scale to the 4.0 scale.

If you email them, I think they'll send it to you.

Banneker did the conversion. SWW required us to send more info from DC's MS.
