Just curious - do they attend a different meet instead? Didn’t see them in MM. Or RMSC? |
because they host NCI the same weekend |
RMSC and NCAP host their own meets the same weekend as Winter Juniors. |
Wouldn’t a national level meet with the top swimmers in the country (or east regions, since there are two meets) be faster than their own meets? Looking at the Men’s 200 IM, for example, the fastest time on psych sheet at NCI wouldn’t even make the A final? |
Sure, but different clubs target different national meets. Clubs can't attend all meets. |
Makes sense, and they probably don’t want to erode the talent at NCI by taking swimmers with JNat cuts down to Greensboro. My guess is NBAC does the same thing since they aren’t attending either. Our club is hosting a meet this weekend and we are split between both meets, but our hosted meet isn’t anywhere near as fast as NCI. |
The top NCAP swimmers also attended the US Open in Greensboro last weekend, one of very few club teams doing that. You cannot make them all... |
This. And NCAP was well represented at the US Open. |
Age group swimmers are the ones that earn clubs the most money, so some clubs like to take their age groupers to a winter championships. Obviously jr nationals wouldn’t fit the bill. |
US Open was slower than Winter Juniors NCI is a money-maker for NCap. That’s why they run it |
But US Open cuts are harder than Winter Jrs. |
A good number of swimmers skipped US Open to go to Worlds, so open was a bit slower than would be typical. |
NBAC hosts their meet at st. Mary’s- which team are you on? I thought that the only meets this weekend were NCI, RMSC and NBAC |
I’m not the PP but the PVS website says Mako and PAC are hosting meets this weekend. |
