At DD’s school, the college counsellor tells the student where they stand relative to other ED candidates within the class that year. |

| No…athletes are additive to the “normal” acceptances. If Harvard could recruit the entire Sidwell basketball team they would…but a kid good enough for Kentucky isn’t going to Harvard. |

| I cannot speak to all schools, but for some colleges, the athletes and regular applicants are entirely separate. One example of this is Notre Dame. |

My kid got into two Top10/ivy in RD that normally only accept 0-1 each year from the prep and both schools already had 1 recruited athlete each and one had an additional unhooked ED acceptance. They also got into other T10/ivy in RD. They had plenty of elite options to choose from despite not doing ED anywhere and having more recruited athletes vying |
