What is your swimmer's fav brand/cut for tech suits? If body type influenced preferences that is good to know. Boy and girl recommendations. |
TYR Avictor for girls. My swimmer doesn’t like the Arena cut (very narrow on top) but others love it. Some girls like the TYR venzo better than the Avictor, it offers more compression. That’s good or bad depending on best events. (Many breaststrokers don’t like the venzo) |
My daughter loves the Speedo Valor and Arena Carbon Glide. The Valor was a great first tech suit for her when she turned 13. She is a breaststroker and did not like the Venzo. |
my daughter loves the carbon glide. she prefers arena to speedo and tyr. |
My boys specifically ask for the arena ones. |
My son loves the Mizzuno suits. |
Our 14 year old son likes the Arena Men's Powerskin Carbon Air2. It gets good reviews as a solid all around tech suit. It's often on sale son Swimoutlet. |
My son (Fly and IM) really likes the Mizuno GX Sonic VI CR as an all around great suit. Mizuno also makes the MX Sonic which is a budget version that uses the same material as the GX Sonic line, but has stitched seams instead of bonded (Not 12 & under legal). He actually prefers the MX Sonic over a lot of suits significantly more expensive. A3 Performance is a smaller company that also makes some really high quality suits, the VICI is his preferred suit by A3. |
Boys - mizuno, gx sonic vi, neo for distance, st for sprint |
ET is the distance suit. NV is the sprint suit, and CR is the middle distance jack of all trades suit. Their suit names changed when the GX Sonic VI came out. |
i can't imagine giving one as a gift. my kid wears a different size in each brand, and sometimes different between styles. I would want my kid to have input and make sure it was worth the $$$$ An ill fitting suit won't help and can be uncomfortable or hold water |
This! Do not “surprise” gift a specific tech suit. My kid had a dream suit forever, found out dream suit and body type were not a match. Fortunately, this was determined in person and my kid was willing to accept that was not her suit! |
