| I struggled finding proper forum to post it. My sister lives in an apartment unit for a long time and decided it was time to request carpet change. When she started moving furniture, we found black mold. I assume this is bad. They have a child. I do not know how long it was there. Apartment managers are not rushing to fix the issue. They offered to provide gallon of paint to paint ourselves. I would think my sister is way too soft in this issue? They have been kicking her "wait for our answer" for 4 weeks now... Before I get involved ( I am usually a bit forceful and may say "attorney" or "inspector" if I go into the office) am I correct expecting the rental management should treat this with urgency?? |

If she is in DC, it sounds like the landlords are in violation:
https://doee.dc.gov/service/mold-information-tenants I rent and mentioned mold in writing. The engineer was here within hours to inspect. |
