Midpoint between DC & Charlotte

Trying to plan a meetup with folks who are in Charlotte thats roughly equidistant for us both. Anyone have suggestions of interesting spots in SW VA for a couple-days trip?

Danville. Good luck

A couple days? Why not Raleigh or Charlottesville? That means 4-ish hours for one side and 2.5 for the other.

Richmond?

From OP:

roughly equidistant

Lynchburg, Roanoke, and Lexington are all roughly equidistant. Roanoke is closer to Charlotte while Lynchburg is closer to DC. As far as interesting spots in those 3 towns, no idea. I make the trip from Charlotte to DC regularly and my goal is always to get to DC as quickly as possible, and delay the return trip until I absolutely have to leave, so no time to stop on the way back.

Petersburg VA or Durham NC

One party will have @2.5 hr drive and the other @3.5 hours. There really isn’t anything Between the 2. We travel from NOVA to Charlotte often and we have to keep in mind there are few exits to stop for food or bathroom drinks on this stretch of interstate.

Sorry, that should read that Lexington is closer to DC. Lynchburg is just about the same distance from each.

I'd do Charlottesville even though its not equal.

Interesting enough for 2 days and equidistant doesn’t really exist. You’re going to have to give one up. There is a long stretch of nothing in the equidistant range.

I’d do Charlottesville.

These are the right answers. Nothing much else between the two. I mean, except Richmond and Durham. Any other trip would involve a lot more driving for both parties.
