| Thoughts on the new guy taking over? |
| He doesn’t seem to know much of anything about tax, but he’s an election denier so I guess that’s his qualification? |
| He has supported legislation to abolish the IRS so this is not good news for the staff. |
| He didn’t graduate from college and would run one of the most technically complex agencies in government. His only tax experience is running a fraudulent tax credit scheme out of a strip mall for the past year. He never wrote a bill while in Congress that was enacted into law. He got the job by camping out at Mar-A-Lago and praising Trump on right wing radio and Fox News. Sounds like a lot of other nominees these days. |
Biden knows how to pardon his son who was convicted of felony tax evasion. |
Yes, he was convicted of felony tax evasion. He then paid everything he owed plus penalties and fees and for anyone whose name wasn’t Biden that would be the end of the story and there would be no threat of jail time or further prosecution. But stick to the thread, there is no argument that this nominee is qualified though he seems like a fun guy. |
yes thats a concern but seems he doesnt have much pull? |
BS. Most people convicted would be in prison. |
| Such an important agency at such an important time. It is just starting to see the effects of the IRA $$. Its glum news for the agency and the country. |
And the IRS had nothing to do with the sentencing or pardoning of Hunter. |
| I work at IRS, I didn’t love the last Trump commissioner but I can’t argue he wasn’t qualified. This feels like a bad joke, what a clown. |
Agree. Good work was being done. But Trump and his billionaire cronies are focused on protecting the rich and that includes letting them off the hook for taxes owed. |
