Process of switching schools

Do you speak with your current school first or the school you will be switching to? We want to switch from magnet back to home school. How soon can the change happen after you inform school? Do you need to give a reason for the switch?

You don’t have to give a reason for the switch though they may ask. Inform your current school first so they can help with the transition back to home school.

We did it two years ago, it was maybe a few days, not long.

What’s the reason? I’m curious as several magnet kids have come back to our high school. Is it to rejoin friends or is the magnet programming not adequate?

Magnet program not adequate for the sacrifices the kids have to make (I'm talking about the whole school magnets). They have fancy names for the Science classes and a few interesting electives but the 1 hour commute each way and early rising is taking its toll.

That makes sense, I don’t know how kids and parents endure the commute and have outside activities.
