lol the charges were reduced to misdemeanors for some of the students. Likely because they are cooperating with the state and took a deal. Other students are still facing felony hate crime charges.

Remember that the age of consent in MD is 16. It is not illegal for an adult to have consensual sex with a 16-year-old. I agree that the charges were probably reduced for the students who are testifying for the prosecution.
