Paris CDG airport for 5

Anonymous
I'd love a rec for my family of 5 for our last night in Paris. We'll arrive by train from Normandy that evening and will catch our flight at 10 am from CDG. I need a hotel that's easy to get to from the train station and then easy to get to the airport. It's basically impossible to find a room for 5, so I might have to get 2 rooms. Thank you!

There are lots of hotels right by the terminal. Choose one of those.

The train to the airport is crowded and not very pleasant. I'd recommend doing that the night before then you can just walk to airport check in the next morning.

If you want to be *in* CDG, book the Sheraton. It'll be top dollar though and space is tight so I think you'll need 2 rooms.

Your best bet is going to be the various hotels around the Roissypole/T3 area. It's called "CDG Stop 1" on the RER train from Paris, and is also on the CDGVAL line, which is the peoplemover that connects the terminals. There are 4 or 5 hotels within a block of the station, they are reasonably priced. In the morning you just walk over to the station and go 2 stops on the (free) CDGVAL to the terminal, those trains run every 5 minutes. The Sheraton right at T2 is too expensive, and the ones fully outside the airport grounds require shuttle buses that don't run all that frequently.

The trek to CDG is pretty miserable. It's not easy access to the city. Try to find a place to leave your luggage for the day and then head to an airport hotel late. If you don't want to spring for a taxi, I found the dedicated airport bus perfectly fine during a 2023 Paris trip.

Hard disagree on the bolded. There is a 30-35 minutes train which runs every 7-8 minutes into and through the center of the city, which during half the day, half the trains are nonstop. If you buy a transit pass it covers the train. It's not perfect but its a perfectly reasonable link for an airport that's 20 miles outside the city.

We got put in the Ibis when our flight was cancelled. The rooms were very basic and small, the restaurant was fine and the best part was it was a 20 second walk to terminal 2 to get on the free inter terminal shuttle train.

There were other hotels around there as well that may have larger rooms

+1
We always stay at the Ibis on the last night.
Basic, but super convenient. Plus getting 2 rooms won't break the bank.

I stayed at the Pullman at CDG. Walk to the terminal. It was a surprisingly decent hotel and very reasonable.

I’ve done this multiple times for a ten am back to the US. You’ll need two rooms, but it worked very well.

Leave Kevin at home and you can easily fit 4 in the room.
