My husband wants to put a conservative investments into a REIT. My thinking is brick and mortar is becoming less attractive due to online shopping and WFH. He sees warehouses, storage units etc as the next big thing.

Sure…you could also buy an alternative asset manager like Blackstone or KKR that have large RE holdings but also own businesses and other asset classes but also pay a decent dividend. There are REITs that specialize in commercial RE, others in apartment complexes, others in medical offices, etc. |
