Prefer in person and we live in Rockville.
Thank you for your suggestions! |
We did PrepMatters in Bethesda. It was remote but I’m fairly certain they’re in person. It was a mixed bag. I would use them again but be more savvy. My son liked his tutor and improved his math score - I think he had a 780. However, we did the prep with the main goal being to improve verbal. His verbal went down instead. I had questioned the rep when we signed up about the tutor because their profile seemed math heavy and didn’t instill confidence they were strong in verbal. The rep insisted that they would be great for verbal. Also, the rep upsold me on a more expensive tutor based on his experience and I think that it probably wasn’t worth extra cost.

We were happy with Prep 1 on 1 in Potomac (Cabin John)

Second Prep 1 on 1 - two kids used their services, definitely not inexpensive, and, worth it. Both kids are attending colleges they wanted to attend
Thank you! Op here. My kid needs more prep in math. I will look into these.
Capital educators. DS took their Baltimore classes but they also have DC are and online classes. DS raised verbal score 640 to 770 with no prep other than going to class.
My kid used PrepMatters and also got a big (100+ points) bump in his math score (his weaker area). He also improved in the verbal section based on some specific test tips. His tutor offered both in person sessions and online when we were out of town.
Thanks all!
