Chippendales vs Strip Club

We're late 40s, with a conservative background. Married 10+ years and in a dead bedroom situation (once a year). She's going out of town and plans to go to a Chippendales show. I'm totally cool with it. She was planning to before but it didn't work out. And I was even going to get her a ticket when they toured through the area. When the idea first came up, I thought, "Oh wow!" I would not have guessed that as an interest. So based on her interest in this show and some other little comments in other discussions, I was feeling confident that I would have the green light. So I finally nerved up and asked if it's ok to get lunch at a strip club. But apparently, that conversation didn't go as I had hoped. I realize that there is SOME difference in a show of men up on stage and maybe one or two women get up there versus a strip club where the hustle is a bit different. I was just starting to think, though, that maybe we might have a little excitement to add to our life. What do you think? How different are these?

Well seeing the entire world is almost all naked ladies, skimpy dressed women, bare breasts and butts nearly 24/7 and she want's to go to ONE Chippendales show, I'd say your ask is really tone deaf. Women are DUE to SEE some men with their shirts off MEN get to see women barely dressed A LOT, every ad, every tv show, every movie, literally every.where. Let her have ONE day of abs FFS.

She's going to a Chippendale's show by herself?
I can tell you that going to a strip club by yourself isn't that much fun.

The reason she didn't go the last time she was there was because none of the friends at the time wanted to go. There is a lot more time this time, so I am sure she'll have someone to go with her. I don't think she wants to go solo

Is a chippendales show at a strip club (where it is one dancer and you are giving them cash) or is chippendales more like a nude vegas style show? There is a difference, IMO. I've never been to chippendales, I have been to a male strip club.

I believe it's more of a stage show but maybe one or two women get pulled up on stage (I don't know if that's a VIP ticket or random or what). So yeah, i acknowledge that there is SOME difference.

You are a grown man, if you want to go to a strip club, go. If your wife is going to divorce you because you looked at some boobs, she is going to find an excuse to divorce you anyways.

That said, a Chippendales show is nothing like a strip club.

I saw a Chippendales show years ago, in Canada. I don't know if the Provincial laws are different than your state laws. There were no women on stage, no touching the dancers, and no full nudity. Barely there g-strings, but no full nudity and I believe that was due to Provincial Laws at the time. Female strippers could be nude, though.

I am pretty sure the no touching the dancers was a Chippendales law.

Correcting myself. It seems the no touching/women on stage was either due to the Province or the venue. Full frontal nudity is not part of the show, though. They may cover with props, but you don't (quite) see everything.

There is a big difference between a stage show and a strip club. Your equivalent would be to go to a burlesque show, not a place where you pay a woman to touch her boobs.

This.
OP is not making a fair comparison.

You should go to a Chippendales show yourself. Lots of hungry women there hanging around when the show's over.

For sure - probably lots of desperate women already warmed up for you just outside the door!

This. I was a burlesque dancer, not a stripper. Zero disrespect; it's just a different hustle.
