Worse grade at your elementary?

I was reading a real estate post about a couple of tough cohorts at a
local elementary school and found myself nodding along, and then I realized it was not even close to where I live.

Which got me thinking: what is the most dysfunctional cohort at your kids’ elementary school?

For us it is 6th grade girls and 4th grade boys.

I have no idea. I have an only child and though I volunteer a lot and go to events at school, I don’t know anything about the other grades as a whole.

In APS 3rd grade boys.

4th seems to be bad at my kids’ school. Both the boys and the girls. It’s also a smaller grade because most people who could hold back a year did so, as current 4th graders are the ones who had to do virtual K.

2nd grade.

5th grade, but last year it was 4th grade. This is true at both the school we attended last year and the school we attend this year.

And before someone steps in to say it's because these kids were out of school during Covid, at the school we attend this year they barely shut down (private).

But I'd fully expect this is wildly variable even within the same school based on a few either good or bad eggs. My 7th grader's cohort was trending to be a tough grade when around 3rd a whole bunch of really sweet kids (boys and girls) came in and totally changed the tone.

I second the 3rd grade boys

4th grade boys.

3rd and 4th grade. 4th grade because that was the covid kindergarten year, 3rd grade because a ton of kids were retained for another year of kinder or they started a year late.

The age spread in 3rd grade is insane--September 2014 kids going to school with July 2016 kids.

6th grade. So much dang drama. And they've been like this since Kinder.

That sounds like our 4th grade. January 2014 to August 2015. Until some transfers in 2nd grade my St. Patrick’s Day kid was the youngest in the grade!

Hah, I am the poster who mentioned tough cohorts. In that case, it's 6th grade.

Weird, the rest of us know exactly what she's asking (and seem to have about the same answer).
