DC United Path2Pro

Looks like a few clubs sent kids last week to DC United ID days through the Path2Pro program. What exactly does that entail?

Arlington sends a lot. You can google the clubs with pathways. Not all of the local clubs feed into it. Usually starts with rec from current coach then ID sessions

What age groups? Was it an ID session?

Are they identifying new kids for each session? Or was there only one session?

Single day sessions but I don’t know how frequently they have them.

Only 6 clubs feed into it. A mini marketing gimmick.

So it's the ID session they usually hold...

Oh! So really just a gimmick then and not a big deal to be invited

Is it different than a normal ID day?

What do you mean ?

DS plays for one of the Path2Pro clubs. I dont think they sent any extra players to the ID day (beyond the couple they already have training with DCU on the regular). We were surprised to see online that other clubs sent so many.

Many of the players who got invited last week was from ECNL teams.

Gimmick or not, it's an opportunity to gain experience and get exposure for the young players. Not every player get selected to attend these types of sessions.

The six teams are all ECNL, I think. It’s a vehicle for some kids outside of the MLS orbit to get a look.

Does anyone know if ECNL has a deal with Taka like MLS Soccer recently signed? It’s a great platform (so far) for MLSNext and the video clips and classifications are on point.

DCU moving 5 2011 up to 2010 for 2025/26 season, filling in spots on 2011 bench.
