I found a used car through TruCar an saw it had one accident. I asked the dealer and they told me there is "no more damage." That isn't what I was asking. Even if the car was repaired I want to know the damage.
I'm thinking of getting one of those verification reports online. Any good recommendations? Or do I skip this and forget the car? |

Carfax.
Then get a mechaninc you trust to chedck it out. They can put it on a lift and look for any signs of major issues. |

Neither Carfax nor Autocheck will give you details of an accident, just the level of damage. Plus both are guides not bibles.
I agree with PP, best bet is to check it over yourself and if it passes your eye check, take it to mechanic for pre-purchase inspection. Some accidents can be superficial while others worse. Accidents that say car wasn’t drivable or that airbags were deployed are passes for me. |
