Low Key Place for Cocktails

My friend and I go out every 6 weeks or so to relax and catch up. Her birthday is coming up and I suggested we go out on a weekend night to celebrate.

I want to make all the plans for the evening. In the past we've gone to restaurants such as Reveler's Hour and St. Vincent Wine Bar. I would like to make a reservation, if possible.

I'm looking for a few ideas on where to go. We live in Mt.Pleasant/Adams Morgan so we would like to stay in the radius of Dupont, Petworth, AM, MtP, Pleasant Plains. Basically, I don't want to head to far east or downtown.
