Turkey safe to eat?

Anonymous
Bought turkey from whole foods on friday. Not thawed quite all the way..but I think its almost thawed now. Says use or freeze by December. When I got home it leaked some blood ..but couldn’t find where it was leaking from. I panicked thinking the packaging was damaged. Husband thought it was fine.. but now Im not so sure. Is it ok to eat do you think?

No. It needs to be cooked first. Then eat.

It’s fine.

Since it is thawed, look up how to dry brine a turkey. I think you can brine it for several days. This is a common cooking method, so clearly people defrost turkeys days in advance. Other people buy them fresh. Lots of meats can drip a little. That is what people often use an additional plastic bag.
