Need Secret Santa/White Elephant gift ideas!

Anonymous
MiL and her sister just sprung this on us for Thanksgiving. $20-30 wrapped. And we are traveling on Wednesday. Totally stumped.

Please, you holiday goddesses, what should I do?

TIA!

Lottery tickets are always good and easy.

Isn’t it sort of white-supremacist to call it a white elephant exchange ?

Bottle of 20 dollar wine and a 5 dollar lotto ticket.

I once did a Trader Joe’s snack bag in a pinch, with a bunch of their popular non-perishable items. It was actually “stolen” twice during the game.

Starbucks, Amazon, Target gift cards are desired but boring

Wine?

Hand warmers? nice OSFA socks?

Just don’t do holiday decor or ornaments. No one really wants that.

I should have included: five of the recipients are under 25. And ten of the five have to travel by plane.

A high quality jigsaw puzzle. I love the New Yorker magazine cover ones.

An Apple air tag.

An OXO bottle opener or corkscrew.

I hate those damn Lush bathbombs, but people do seem to love them and if you are doing the kind of exchange where people can "steal" other gifts, it'll get grabbed up.

Goodr sunglasses—exactly $25 (but probably not here in time unless there is a B&M near you that sells them)

Friday night in basket—escape room in a box, dominos gift card, and a 6 pack of beer (or just a grocery store gift card labeled “pizza and beer money” if plane is an issue)

Stainless steel water bottle—owala is popular and in that price range, maybe with some Celsius powder packets

Battery operated hand warmers if participants are from cold climates

Travel by plane?? That limits things for sure. I like the lottery ticket idea!

A popular book/cookbook

None of that stuff, except maybe an airtag. Get an amazon gift card.

And I can't carry 5 jigsaw puzzles on a plane.
