Assume 4 days a week in office, 1 day hybrid. |
A half hour is my limit. At one point, I commuted an hour and 50 minutes each way. Never again. |
I like to walk to work |
Any Potomac River bridge by car is too much. MetroRail across the river is ok. |
At one point I had a commute that would take anywhere between 1-1.5 hr each way. It was maddening and I prayed every day for a change. I now live 5 minutes away from my office. |
Has been a 5 minute walk (heavenly commute, but job was at our local ES and paid awful, and, allowed me to be on the kids schedule), 50 minites by bus and metro (first job out of college), currently a 17 minute drive (reverse commute) |
I commute between 1-1.5 hours each way 3 days a week. I flex my time so that when I am coming in I miss most of the traffic (I get in between 7 and 7:30), but even leaving the office at 3:30 puts me in traffic headed home. It’s not the worst thing, I put on podcasts and chill. I’m still home by 5, which is earlier than I used to get home when I lived closer in. I wouldn’t want to be any further away though. |
50 minutes is the tipping point - because it ends up being an hour realistically. And 2 hours a day is maddening. |
Before the pandemic my commute was a short walk and two Metro stops. More than that and I am out. |
30 min yup |
+1 And I agree with people that 30 minutes is really much better as a maximum. |
If I had to go to the office 4 days a week… 20min would be the max.
|
30 minutes max for me but it would have to be really good. 20 minutes is the max for just a regular job. |
Close to 15-20 min. One way. |
50 minutes to an hour is my utmost limit, and I would be pissed doing that four days a week. 30 minutes every day would be fine. |
