Birthday Dinner for 8 Year Old

Anonymous
Trying to think of somewhere fun for a birthday dinner for my 8 year old son in the DMV with some of our family. Would love somewhere kid friendly but still with good food. Prefer Maryland but willing to go to DC or VA.

Hot pot, fondue, new rotating sushi place (food wasn't good though and expensive)

My son loved Kura Sushi - the rotating sushi place that has robot servers - the robot brings you your drinks. every 10-15 plates that you turn in, a toy pops out. Sushi was decent. The interesting thing is he enjoyed grabbing stuff so much he went beyond his usual california and shrimp tempura rolls and tried different things.

Ha ha ha, we tried this this summer while out of town. The food was bad, like the fresh offerings were fine but some stuff seemed like they’ve been rotating since the day before 🫣 there was another family with young kids, so we picked a bit-in watermelon and saw them try something and put it back on the conveyor 😂 but my kids still had a blast!!!

They also love the Korean bbq where they grill their own stuff. Crabhouses are also fun. If kid loves pizza, some places offer a pizza making class.
