Anne Arundel County experts?

Considering buying in Crofton, MD. I've heard generally good things about the Anne Arundel schools. Are there bad pockets to look out for, or can I be fairly confident that K-12 will be acceptable?

Actually the Anne Arundel County school system has been historically weak, compared to much of the rest of Central Maryland school systems. The Crofton area should be decent -- I think it feeds to Arundel and South River High. They are good schools, as are Broadneck and Severna Park, which are closer in to the Annapolis area. But you still need to research the schools pretty thoroughly, IMO.

20:19 again. I just reread my post and it sounds pretty harsh. I didn't mean it to. But do look into different schools before buying. Schooldigger.com is a good place to start.

I definitely would not rank the AACO schools as historically weak. There are some strong pyramids of schools and some not so strong/downright bad. Crofton Meadows Elem and Crofton Woods are really good and they feed into Crofton Middle. Crofton Middle then feeds into South River High School that in the last 10 years has probably become one of the better high school in the county.
