Best time to buy used (2022) car?

Looking to buy used hybrid between now and mid Jan. I found 1 I like now but it’s just a bit too $$. I have time so can wait to make offer. Would next weekend be good? Or do I wait until till after Xmas or even new year?

I’m specifically looking at a 2022 because the car I like upgraded to full screen for all HVAC and I like knobs.

Used car prices are based on the market. If it’s a popular car it’ll cost more.

The price of a specific used car will likely decrease the longer it is on the lot. If you are looking to buy a specific model with specific options, you’ll have to juggle waiting for the price to drop vs finding that exact car elsewhere. Not always easy with used cars.

Also, used car prices are negotiable. If you find similar car elsewhere to the one you want, use that price when negotiating.

Finally, always get a pre-purchase inspection. Get it done at an independent shop of your choosing. It usually runs about $150 and it’s worth it.
