I'm trying to determine what information my 8th grader should provide to their teacher when requesting a recommendation for the Walls application. How detailed should it be? For example, should we include a list of all their activities, or is there no space for narrative on the teacher recommendation form?
Are teachers given specific questions to answer, such as ranking criteria, multiple-choice options, or open-ended questions? Thanks! |
All of the above |
So, the teacher is able to write a narrative? They write like a page for each kid? I had heard it was not extensive for the teachers.
Anyone know what the form the teachers fill out looks like? |
OP why not have the student ask the teacher what information might best help them write a letter of rec? I actually don’t like when kids assume I want a list of activities or whatever. I’d rather they ask what I need for a recommendation. |
I saw the form two years ago and my memory is that the teachers have about a paragraph-worth of space for narrative about each kid. I agree with the other poster about asking the teacher what would be useful. |
OP here. Thanks PP, this is helpful. Previously, I spoke with the teacher who requested some facts about DC but I was under the impression that teachers could only provide a ranking. It didn’t occur until later to ask. Now, this makes sense. |
