Infertility Support and Discussion
nothing. I am expecting AF any day now. I have AMA working against me. It's so depressing.
I know how you feel. I am so sorry. However, if it is any consolation, a good friend of mine who is 43 just got pregnant naturally (she is 5 months along) and she had all kinds of problems (endometriosis, luetal phase defect, PCOS). She had her first child at 41 through her third IUI. So, try to remain positive. I hope all works out for you. Baby dust to you.

Did you get back a bad test result? When I got pregnant, it took until 2 days after my period was supposed to start to get a positive. And I had no symptoms either. Even had a touch of bleeding that made me think it didn't work. Hang in there.
Was this an IUI? How old are you? In my 40s, I did a lot of cycles and often had 8 or more mature follicles, and not one bfp.
Thanks everyone for the support. I turned 41 a few months ago. I had a baby naturally at 39 but I've had three chemical pregnancies since I turned 40. I am on the progesterone suppositories and I was having very sore breasts but yesterday they stopped feeling so sore and I had a severe migraine (I usually get migraines a few days before my period). Based on this, I'm guessing that I had a sudden drop in my progesterone signaling the start of AF. I've had two IUIs so far and both times everything looked great, husband has fantastic counts, etc. but I can't seem to catch the golden egg. I think I'll take a break from treatment and just enjoy some normal sex.
I just turned 40. I started an IUI cycle, had to cancel b/c I had too many follicles at trigger time, then did 3 more IUIs with everything looking great, multiple follicles, excellent sperm sample - those resulted in one chemical pregnancy & 2 BFNs. I decided I needed to take a break from the drugs and stress, and . . . I got pregnant on my own and am now 26 weeks along! I know how stressful it is waiting for that "golden egg" - I hope you get yours soon! |
