Towson, Salisbury, McDaniel Decisions

DD applied a couple of weeks ago (October 30th). We know when UMD decisions come out, but does anyone know about the schools in the topic? McDaniel was a little delayed as they requested scholarship info so her file was not complete until last week. DD is a bit anxious and getting the first acceptance would help a lot!

Several years ago my DD heard from Towson around this time in November as did several other friends. I am hoping they will release acceptances any day now even though they say by mid-January.

DC was into all 3 in October their year, but had completed applications before Labor Day.

Applied to McDaniel early Nov and heard in about 2 weeks.

This is OP- thank you. Sounds like she should hear from McDaniel very soon and possibly Towson this month. These three should all be safety schools, but I just want her to get that first acceptance so that she can stop stressing!

Does anyone know about Salisbury?

What are her stats? I went to Salisbury years ago and transferred. The place was pretty dead on the weekends and so I ended up bringing my car down so I could go home too. Pretty, compact campus but the academics were pretty easy IMO.

Just heard from McDaniel yesterday via snail mail so you should hear something soon. It's a safety school was nice anyways to get the first positive EA admission letter ahead of the dreaded ED decision that is coming next month.

Towson - heard back last year Dec 2
Salisbury - was right before that (was his first acceptance)

DS ended up at Towson but Salisbury was a second choice. His BFF ended up at Salisbury and seems to be liking it. Plays on a club sports team, joined a fraternity (not the ones involved in a recent incident), and seems to be enjoying himself. He has come home 2x since the semester started and finds things to do on the weekends (doesn't have a car.)

My kid was accepted last year with less than stellar stats and was offered $30K per year. Ended up somewhere else, but that was very generous.

That is generous! Do you happen to remember the bottom line after the merit was applied? Or does anyone know?

That is generous! Do you happen to remember the bottom line after the merit was applied? Or does anyone know?

I believe Tuition plus R&B was going to be about $65K, so that would have brought it down to ~$35K.

Yes, it was their "Military legacy scholarship" $33K per year. I think like the other PP said the cost at McDaniel for tuition, room and board is around $65K per year. I'm wondering if there is still a chance for one of their merit scholarships? Our DC could be competitive. Guess will wait and see. My DC liked that they offer a 4+1 program with JHU for Economics. In the meantime will stand by for ED/EA to come out and prepare contingencies for RD. GL

McDaniel. Applied mid-October and accepted this week. TO/sub 3.0 GPA. MD private HS.

$24k merit aid.

I know you didn’t ask about St Mary’s of Maryland but maybe there is crossover and folks will know. Says ED notification by Dec 1, and kid is waiting anxiously. Not a shoo in. Anyone know when they generally notify ED? No info online because the ED pool is so small.
