-Believes in having a virtual learning space, though didn’t fully commit to it being part of the upcoming year’s budget
-Asking council and state reps not to come up with any unfunded mandates
- Wants budget to be easier for taxpayers to read/follow

MCPS has been zero based budgeting for 10 years.

What is zero-based budgeting?

Starting the budget each year from zero and then adding in the things you need/want to have and justifying. As opposed to starting with last year’s budget as a template, then determining what you want to eliminate and then anything new you need/want to add and justifying only the new expenditures.
