Lead in drinking water

3 water fountains were just shut down at Olney Elementary for having too much lead. Any other schools having this issue?

This comes up periodically because the brass components in fountains begin to leach lead over time. Have your students us the water station near the cafeteria, which has a filtered water outlet for water bottles.

Assume the water is not clean, especially with the age of many of the school buildings that are older than Olney Elementary.

Half of the water fountains at Greenwood have lead and did when they were tested back in 2021. It seems like this should have been monitored for the last 2 years and it seems like potentially nothing was done about it in 2021. I also don't remember bring notified about it in 2021 but the email today links to the 2021 testing.

When was the last time you tested the water coming out of your kitchen faucet? If you think this only happens at schools, you haven't thought about it.
