Laminate floor damage

Anonymous
My laminate floors look great except for by a double door leading into the backyard: Some of it has lifted and a small portion (1 inch) has cracked. Can this be spot repaired somehow?

Unless you have extra pieces it's pretty much throw away

I don't want to replace 2000 sqft of flooring for just that tiny damage though! I personally don't care at all but it would be to fix for resale down the line.

If you can get matching pieces it should be fixable. Our contractor left a few extra boxes when they were done installing the floor since it can be hard to get the same design years later.

If you don't want to replace the whole thing, you are going to have to live with it. Maybe get a rug.

Laminate putty repair kit.

Do you have extra? It's easy to pull it up and replace. We had to do this when we had a small leak a few years ago. We had the same handyman who fixed the leak also replace the floor boards.

As mentioned, if no extra, you might could try to color match it, but it's likely changed color since new.

Try gluing it down?
Rugs.
Change the laminate of the area near the door creating an "entrance" to the room.
